YO-YOS UP AND DOWN

Im going to talk about yo yos  according to historyno one knows where  yo yos originated and when  this appeared. by that I found In internet    the best gues is china about 3000  years ago .
The specific of yo -yo is uncertain. Early versions of the toy have been placed in China, Greece, and the Philippines.

YO-YOS  Is one of  the ancient toy aroun the world.

The National Museum of Athens houses several vases dating from around 500 B.C. depicting young Greeks playing with discs tethered to a cord. The word yo-yo means come come in the native Philippine language, Tagalog, and yo-yos have been hand-carved in that country for thousands of years.

according to the history  this toy  was  use in the pass  for the aristocracy andt for the adults in the french revolucion  to relivef tension. and  that toy was a symbol of wealth too.

WHO Discovered America?

Im going to talk about who  discovered    America.  who  discovered America ? this is a good question, because there are  many  theories  about  who did, but the more controversary  theory  is the  theory of the bristh historian Gavin Menzies.

I was surfing in internet  and and researching  about who were the first who discovered America and I found  the theory of Gavin Menzies. the theory of  Menzies turn the story  of  Europeans discovery of America; on its ears with  startling  idea: chinese sailor beat christopher  columbus by more than 70 years say menzies in his book 1421.

The  theory of menzies has generated controversy within the halls scholarship.

the following information has been taken  from http://www.dailymail.co.uk/

  • Gavin Menzies, a British historian, claims Chiense Admiral Zheng He set up colonies and sailed round South America before Columbus
  • Menzies' new book, 'Who Discovered America?' also claims the Chinese have been sailing to the New World since 40,000 BC across the Pacific Ocean
  • His theories are not widely accepted by academia and he has been labeled a 'pseudo-historian'

  • A copy of a 600-year-old map found in a second-hand book shop is the key to proving that the Chinese, not Christopher Columbus, were the first to discover the New World, a controversial British historian claims.
The document is purportedly an 18th century copy of a 1418 map charted by Chinese Admiral Zheng He, which appears to show the New World in some detail.
This purported evidence that a Chinese sailor mapped the Western Hemisphere more than seven decades before Columbus is just one of Earth-shattering claims that author Gavin Menzies makes in his new book ‘Who Discovered America?’ - out today, just in time for the Columbus Day holiday.
‘The traditional story of Columbus discovering the New World is absolute fantasy, it’s fairy tales,’ Mr Menzies told MailOnline.

Map of the World? It is claimed that this is an eighth century copy of the map Admiral Zheng He made in 1418. The map clearly shows the new world (left half) - more than 70 years before Columbus discovered it
Mr Menzies believes that this portion of the map depicts the Chinese mapping of North and South America in 1418 - showing major rivers.

For me the theory of menzies may not turn out be correct but if somebody who is bold enough , to present an alternative hipotesis to the main strean perspective ,tha columbus was the firs, is a ridiculed
beside that if the chinese had been the first  the story has been different. different culture , different thoughts and well all the things different.

    Did the Chinese Discover America?

It was  Catchy for me to read the question about Did the chinese discover America?
is my first time that I'm confronted and later I thought could have been other person who'd discover america except Columbus?. For this and other questions is that I consider is important to know about other coments about  America's  Discovering. Acording to the book there are evidences that suggests before Columbus got America already the Viking Leif Ericsonhad crossed the atlantic and visited North America in the eleventh century in others words more than 65 years before Christopher Columbus.

I think this information could change the History's curse. It's for that reason that I think is a big  challenge for the next generations to search and  trying to find out about this important matter.

    Did the Chinese Discover America?

    Did the Chinese Discover America?

This is an interesting and controversial reading for many people because no everybody knows about this story.

Gavin Menzies who is a retired British submarine commander an amateur historian has written a book: The Year the Chinese Discover the World (2002) describing Zheng`s sixth voyage.

According to menzies, the chinese explored Australia 350 years before Captain Cook, circle the world and arrived on american shores 71 years before Christopher Columbus.

The commander of the imperial fleet was the remarkable Zheng He, he is described as a tall and , powerful with the stride of a tiger and a clear  vibrant voice.

Zheng  He was the person who made the expedition of trade and diplomacy to exchange goods different to Christopher Columbus who made journeys to discover new places.

I think if this story was true, the teachers in the school have to teach us it, but they dont do it, is for tha reason i don`t believe it I think  it is only a theory.

I do not believe that Chinese discovered America. I thought if they were who discovered America the history were different today for example: America could be influenced by their custom I mean the way of behaving or belief. There are not evidences that Chinese discovered A      merica. The only that I know is the first person who came to America was Americo Vespucio but Columbus was the first who explored it.

The unit “The ups and downs of Yo-yos” reminded me when I was a child in my parents used to buy this toy. The Three King’s Day my parents or my aunts gave one. I hated that because I did not how to play it. Even I did not like it; I enjoyed seeing my friends yo-yoing. They used to make competences between them. Those competences were amazing and funny. My friends were masters playing yo-yo. I love it because we spent a great together; we bought foods, danced and listened to music.

     DID THE CHINESE DISCOVERE  AMERICA?

Well, I might be wrong but personally I think that the enthusiasm of Chinese capitalism, the need to discover new markets such as leisure, desire to show the world what can the dragon's power and, ultimately, the need to recover an ancient cultural tradition, coming if necessary to reinvent...all these elements could be mixed about the announcement that a Chinese sailor discovered America before Columbus.

    did the chinese discover america

gavin mensies this amateur historian theorized that chinese made a exploration throughout australia 350 years before captain cookand  arrived 71 one years before christopher columbus.

zheng heoversaw the building of a powerful fleet at the shipyards at dragon bay naijing the emperor sent him on seven on seven major expedition of trade and diplomacy.

on zheng´s first expedition, he sailed south to vietnan and the spice islands today is indonesia and australia, arabia, somalia, and so on.

menzies points out that, when columbus and magellan made their voyayes, they had maps showing the position of america. who drew the maps. if it wasnt the chinese, with the biggest fleets and ships in the world, who was it_ acording to menzies, the italian adventurer nicolo da conti, who may have sailed on one of zheng´s voyayes, brought the map to venice in 1428, and from there they were taken to portugal.

well I must admit that christoper columbus discovered america, but what i think is that chinese and other people could have found that earth long time before christofer columbus arrived to america and discovered, and there are characteristics of indians somewhat similar to chinesse. what a strange! well, i agree there was a mixture of races in order to get what we call today indian.

    Did Chinese Discovered America?

                                                   Did Chinese Discovered America?

This lesson made me laugh. There's an image on Instagram that says: "Whenever you think you're good at something, there's always going to be an Asian kid to make you think the opposite." When you think that Asian people can't invent anything else, you read about they dicovering America.

I really don't think Chinese discoverd America, although, this lesson made have some doubts about it. Even though the information found in the reading sounds very convincing, I think I'll keep the idea that Spanish people were the ones who discovered America, not only because it might sound a little odd to say that Chinese did, but also because of the years of history that we have read in books about this particular topic.

The Ups and Downs of Yo-Yos

The Ups and Downs of Yo- Yos

I always try to stay away from things that would make me stray... This lesson brought that line to my mind.

A Yo-Yo, a litle toy that have given us many enyoyable moments. For you a yo-yo may be a simple toy, and I think your right. A yo-yo is just a simple toy, but it's also a powerful symbol. Why do I see it as a powerful symbol? Simple, a yo-yo can illustrate how our lives are built.Life has many ups and downs, just like a yo-yo.

While reading the lesson I started thinking about my life and how this yo-yo thing was actually so true, Right now I'm going through a very difficult situation. I may say that I'm in my downs now. I feel like anything I'm doing now is worth it, I don't have the strenght to continue fighting, and sometimes I just want to give up. The only thing that gives me a little hope is knowing that this is not it. I know that this is just a bad season, and that God has many good things for me. I believe that better things are coming!

Looking at the facts  I on the lines above,  I can conclude that the theory of seeing yo-yos as a symbol is true. Life is full of ups and downs, but the ponit is the attitude we take with each of moments we go through.

    Smart Cars

                                                                         Smart Cars

I really enjoyed this lesson. At first I thought it would be boring because of the title of it, but then while reading, many things ran into my head. I started thinking about the kind of people that buy those cars. I started thinking, of course, about my country, and the people that buy those cars here. My question is: Are we spending our money on things that are necessary?

Well, I believe that the amount of money Dominicans are spending on those cars should be used to cover many other necessities that our country has. And by 'Dominicans" I refer to those people who are in charge of mannaging the country's finances. They are the first ones who please themselves with those luxurious cars by using our money. Here, in Dominican Republic, we don't even have the type of highways needed to drive those cars.

The point I'm trying to make here is that before thinking about pleasing themselves, politicians should think about the needs of the country. They should focus on helping people instead of using the money we pay in our taxes to buy their little toys.

Did the Chinese Discover America ?

I was very surprised when I started to read about this  topic . All  the time  it has been  known that the only person that discovered America was Christopher Columbus , but according to the reading it has theorized that  Zhen He arrived to America before Christopher Columbus .

It is interesting to know that there is another history about the Discovery of America, a history that left  me very  suprised because since  l was a child , l have always known it was Christopher Columbus who discovered America.

    THE NAME GAME

What's in a name? A lot, when it comes to small-business success. The right name can make your company the talk of the town. The wrong one can doom it to obscurity and failure. Ideally, your name should convey the expertise, value and uniqueness of the product or service you have developed.
Some experts believe that the best names are abstract, a blank slate upon which to create an image. Others think that names should be informative so customers know immediately what your business is. Some believe that coined names (that come from made-up words) are more memorable than names that use real words. Others think they're forgettable.
In reality, any name can be effective if it's backed by the appropriate marketing strategy. Here's what you'll need to consider in order to give your small business the most appropriate and effective name.

Start by deciding what you want your name to communicate. It should reinforce the key elements of your business. Your work in developing a niche and a mission statement will help you pinpoint the elements you want to emphasize in your name.
The more your name communicates to consumers about your business, the less effort you must exert to explain it. According to naming experts, entrepreneurs should give priority to real words or combinations of words over fabricated words. People prefer words they can relate to and understand. That's why professional namers universally condemn strings of numbers or initials as a bad choice
