J-BALL

Baseball is one of the most widely wached and played sports in the world. The name originally was known as ``townball`` developed in the early nineteeth century in the Northeastern United Stated. Japanese baseball history is a ggood example of how society drives cultural development. Baseball has been part of the japanese landscape since 1873, it was introduced into Japon during the 1870s by missionary and teacher, Horace Wilson from the Unied States.  Their initial purpose was to include the sport in a physical education from at school. when the baseball appeared Japon was beginning the Meijin Restoration a time of political and social revolution. The sport became popular by the 1930s the quality of  baseball in Japon had risen to a very high level. The Dainippon Tokyo Baseball Club which later became the famous Yomiuri Giants was founde in 1935. In the next year, a six team league was set up, and the first professional season was played. During the years, U.S., baseball and J-ball have become interwined. Quite a few Japanese teams have toured the United States. The first was in 1935, when the Dainippon team visited the United States. After their tour they addopted the nickname  `` Giants.``
