The first Smart Car to be invented  was in 1998 by a man named NICOLAS HAYEK, for Mercedes Corporation , Hayek is also the inventor of swatch watches. The smart car became a popular car in Europe. 

The smart car is a  small economy  car even smaller  than most that we see. It successfully sold in several countries it was ever released in the U.S. It only two seats, so it no designed for families, but it does have a lot of  cargo space. There are different kind of this car, like a Smart City-Coupe, Smart City-Cabrio ( from 2,000), Smart  Crossblade (from 2,002), Smart K.( Only in Japan), Smart Roadster (2003-2005), Smart Forfour ( 2,004-2,006), Smart Fortwo (2,007) and Smart Fortwo ED. (2,008).
