Today June 21st is the first day of summer or solstice. Because of the position of the Sun this is the longest day of the year. The name is derive from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (t0 stand still).
At 1:17 P.M. the Sun will stop for a while and will star its journey back until December 21st when the winter solstice will occur. So people the summer has officially start, let's enjoy it.
